ELECTRIC FENCE COC · VALHALLA
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming as well as showing visible damage?+
Include both concerns when booking electric fence fault finding. A technician can assess the installation rather than assuming the visible item explains the warning. Keep clear of damaged components.
Will replacing a warning sign produce an electric fence compliance certificate?+
The required inspection and tests cover the relevant installation. Replacing one visible item is not evidence that all other requirements have been checked and passed.
Can I send a photograph from the pavement?+
A photograph may help if it can be taken safely without reaching, climbing or approaching damaged wires. Include the address and location; a photograph cannot replace the technical assessment.
Should the fence be checked after painting around it?+
Explain what was painted and whether components were moved, covered or damaged. Ask for the affected arrangement to be assessed and any necessary corrections identified.
What paperwork should be kept after corrections?+
Retain the work description and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Record the affected locations so later maintenance can identify the repaired signs or fittings.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
