ELECTRIC FENCE COC · WATERFALL EQUESTRIAN ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after a vehicle clipped the entrance?+
Explain the incident and current symptoms to Wesslink. Keep people and animals away from damaged components. The fence needs assessment even if the gate can still open; do not retension or reconnect wires yourself.
Can the gate fabricator simply reconnect the fence after widening the opening?+
Arrange the appropriate electric-fence work and assessment as part of the project. Do not assume a gate quotation includes electrical fence connections or certification. Agree the contractors’ responsibilities before work starts.
When should I request an electric fence certificate of compliance after an entrance alteration?+
Raise the requirement during planning so inspection can be arranged when the relevant installation is ready. Keep the earlier documents and descriptions of the changes. Necessary corrections must be completed before a compliant result can be certified.
Should paddock fencing be treated as part of the same repair?+
Identify it if it was affected, but explain its purpose separately from the security fence. Ask which specialist assessment applies. A security-fence document should not be assumed to cover animal-containment equipment or its suitability.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
