ELECTRIC FENCE COC · WILGEHEUWEL
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can Wesslink inspect a communal fence on my unit’s visitor invitation?+
Entry must also be supported by the relevant manager’s authorisation and access arrangements. A unit invitation alone does not settle responsibility for a shared installation.
Do all Wilgeheuwel complexes use Makoti’s procedures?+
No. Makoti provides a local example of distinct resident, management and access records. Obtain the current procedure from your own development.
What if my sale file contains only the unit electrical certificate?+
Ask which electric-fence document is required and who holds it. Do not assume a unit electrical certificate describes the communal boundary system.
Should I send access codes with the initial enquiry?+
Start with the address and responsible contact. Share any necessary access arrangements privately through the agreed booking process, using the current method authorised by your property manager.
Is your electric fence alarming during a property handover?+
Keep the alarm times with the handover records and tell the owner or managing agent. For electric fence fault finding, arrange access to the equipment and permission from whoever manages it. Receiving keys does not resolve a reported fence problem.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
