Need an Electric Fence COC in Willaway?

Has a boundary or entrance changed at your Willaway property while the electric fence stayed as it was? Ask Wesslink to assess the resulting installation before relying on the old paperwork. We can discuss electric fence repairs, any alterations needed and an electric fence COC for the relevant system.

A new gate, internal partition or property agreement does not automatically separate the electrical fence equipment. Establish what the system actually serves before work is authorised.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Check what the fence still connects after the property changes.

Willaway and its extensions are listed in Johannesburg’s Region A. Use the full address and property description when arranging a visit, particularly if an entrance or internal boundary has changed. Where your property has been divided for separate use, explain that arrangement without assuming the fence was altered at the same time. The inspector needs the present layout and known work history.

01

A new entrance has been created

Show the change and identify any fence connections moved during construction. Do not assume the new gate contractor checked the entire electric fence. Arrange assessment of the relevant installation and ask what remains unfinished before the entrance project is treated as complete.

02

Different occupants now use separate areas

Explain the boundaries each party uses and who controls the fence equipment. Access and permission may be needed from more than one person. An occupancy agreement does not by itself show which energiser or connection serves a section, so avoid disconnecting equipment to find out.

03

The old certificate describes the earlier layout

Keep the original document and supply the subsequent work information. Ask which parts need inspection under the current arrangement. Do not edit the address, installation description or other certificate details yourself to make the old record appear to cover the changed property.

Agree the finished arrangement before altering connections.

For a proposed electric fence installation or extension, explain what must be protected and the boundaries the work will follow. Establish who can approve changes and whether other owners or a scheme are involved. Wesslink can discuss the technical proposal, including the assessment needed at completion. Resolving permission and access early avoids a job ending with an unreachable section or a disputed connection.

Electric fence fault finding may be needed where an alarm or loss of operation starts after a layout change. Provide the sequence of events and the work descriptions from the contractors involved. The timing is useful evidence but does not prove a cause. Ask for the findings and required correction to be recorded, keeping any ownership or payment disagreement separate from the technical assessment.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

For a Willaway quotation, send the existing and proposed arrangements if available, the changed entrance or boundary details, and any earlier fence documents. Ask which installation the price covers and whether access to another occupied area is required. Separate electrical fence work from surveying, ordinary wall construction and legal property arrangements; none of those should be assumed included in a general request for certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · WILLAWAY

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can an electric fence compliance certificate be arranged after a property layout changes?

Yes, explain the change when requesting the inspection. The relevant installation must be assessed in its current condition, and required corrections must be completed before a compliant result can be certified.

Is your electric fence alarming after an internal gate was added?

Tell Wesslink when the symptom began and what was changed. Keep the equipment unchanged for assessment and do not disconnect sections yourself. The inspection can investigate the fault and any related alterations.

Does an electric fence certificate of compliance prove a property boundary is legally correct?

No. It concerns the relevant electrical fence installation. Ownership, surveying and the authority to build or alter a boundary need to be resolved through the appropriate property records and professionals.

Can two occupants share one fence certificate?

Ask which actual installation and responsible owner the document identifies. Do not decide from the number of occupants alone. Explain any connected sections and separate areas so the required assessment and records can be clarified.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
