ELECTRIC FENCE COC · WITPOORTJIE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can I book on behalf of an elderly parent?+
You can coordinate the enquiry, but confirm the property client’s authority and access arrangements. Shared village equipment may need management’s instruction.
Can a quiet fence still need inspection before certification?+
Yes. The absence of an alarm does not establish the condition of the wires, fittings and other parts of the installation. Report damage or alterations and arrange the required inspection and testing.
Can a cottage resident authorise work on the village perimeter?+
That depends on the actual responsibility and delegated authority. Ask the managing organisation before treating a resident’s request as permission for communal work.
Should I buy a replacement energiser before the visit?+
Ask for the fault to be assessed first. A recurring alarm or damaged fence section does not by itself identify the part that needs replacement.
Is your electric fence alarming at a Witpoortjie home or managed property?+
Give the owner or manager the alarm location and times, and confirm who will meet the attending team. Wesslink can arrange electric fence fault finding around the property’s access needs. For managed accommodation, coordinate through management so residents’ normal routes remain available.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
