ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ZWARTKOP
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming when a particular entrance is used?+
Note which entrance, the time and the exact warning. Ask for electric fence fault finding. Do not repeatedly operate equipment or adjust wires to reproduce the symptom for a photograph.
Can the gate contractor complete the electric-fence changes?+
Clarify who is responsible for the specialist fence work before the job starts. Both contractors should understand the finished arrangement and the checks required at completion.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate cover the altered entrance?+
The required inspection and tests need to address the relevant completed installation, including the alteration. Explain the existing fence and changes when requesting certification.
What if only the side gate has changed?+
Identify that change and provide the existing records. Its relationship to the fence still needs assessment; the amount of building work does not decide the technical result.
What should the completed property record include?+
Keep the agreed entrance arrangement, repair details and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Add later changes so the next assessment starts with an accurate description.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
