PRIVATE BOUNDARIES · PUBLIC OPEN SPACE · SAFE INSPECTION ACCESS

Need an Electric Fence COC in Abbotsford?

Does your fence run beside a pavement, open space or another property's garden? For an electric fence COC in Abbotsford, tell Wesslink which boundary needs attention and how it can be reached. We can assess the installation and explain any corrections before certification, without asking you to touch the wires or enter neighbouring land.

A view from your garden may leave the outside of the boundary unseen. Mention inaccessible sections when booking so the visit can be planned properly.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Look at the boundary from the places people can reach.

James & Ethel Gray Park is listed at Atholl Oaklands Road, Abbotsford, beside the Birdhaven area. Give your own street address rather than the park name alone. If a private electric fence faces public space, explain how that side is used and who can arrange access. Include the outside boundary in the inspection arrangements instead of considering only the view from the garden.

01

A street-facing wall

Mention a pedestrian gate, raised pavement or any place where people pass close to the fence. Send photographs from a safe position showing the wall and surrounding ground together. A close-up of one insulator does not show whether a passer-by can reach the wires or where an entrance interrupts the route.

02

A rear boundary beside open space

Identify the section from inside your property and tell us if the outside is inaccessible. Do not climb over, open a locked public gate or arrange an informal shortcut through someone else's garden. Inspection access can be discussed with the responsible property contact before attendance.

03

Garden work near the wires

If clearing, pruning or new planting is planned, identify where it approaches the fence. Arrange safe working conditions before a gardener starts. Removing visible growth may be one maintenance task, but it does not establish the condition of the energiser, connections or the remainder of the electric fence installation.

A boundary concern needs a property-specific answer.

An electric fence compliance certificate concerns the installation assessed at the property. It does not give permission to use a park, settle where a legal boundary lies or authorise work on a neighbour's wall. If there is uncertainty over the structure, have the owner resolve that separately while the electrical findings are recorded.

Tell us about changes on either accessible side: a new path, raised flowerbed, storage area or rebuilt wall can change the surroundings even when the wires stayed in place. Keep the discussion practical by describing what changed and when. The inspection establishes what needs correction; a photograph or an old certificate cannot settle every condition remotely.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ABBOTSFORD

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can you issue an electric fence certificate of compliance from photographs?

Photographs help plan the visit, but the installation needs inspection and the required checks. Any defects and inaccessible sections must be dealt with appropriately before a certificate can be issued.

Is your electric fence alarming near an overgrown boundary?

Tell us when the alarms occur and where growth is visible from a safe position. Electric fence fault finding can establish what is causing the problem. Do not touch the growth against the wires or ask a gardener to cut it while the fence remains energised.

Can a park contact approve repairs to my own fence?

Identify who owns and controls the installation. A public-space contact may help with access on that side, but the property owner still needs to arrange the private work. Shared or separately managed equipment needs its responsible manager involved.

What if the wall is being rebuilt?

Provide the builder's plan and timing before the fence is removed or reinstalled. Discuss the electrical work alongside the wall project, and obtain any applicable property or building approval. Completion of the wall does not by itself complete the fence inspection.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
