ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ATHOLL GARDENS
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can a tenant request an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
You can ask the landlord or managing agent for the relevant document and report concerns. Arranging inspection or corrective work on common equipment requires coordination with the person who controls that installation.
Is your electric fence alarming soon after you move in?+
Record when it happens and what the display or notification says. Send that information to the maintenance contact. Electric fence fault finding should assess the equipment; do not open controls or touch wires to demonstrate a problem.
Who should let the inspector into a managed property?+
Arrange a contact who can open the relevant equipment and boundary areas, not only the apartment. Ask management about access to common sections and tell the tenant when attendance is planned.
Can a handover inspection guarantee that no faults will develop?+
No inspection prevents future damage or changes. Keep the completed findings, report new symptoms promptly and arrange assessment when work affects the fence or its surroundings.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
