PRIVATE FENCE CHECKS · ALARM REPORTS · CLEAR HANDOVER RECORDS

Need an Electric Fence COC in Atholl?

Has your fence alarm gone off after a neighbourhood alert? Tell Wesslink what your own system reported and whether a repair, inspection or property sale is involved. We can assess the private installation in Atholl, explain the necessary work and consider an electric fence COC after the required corrections.

Send only the relevant fence information. You do not need to circulate security codes, camera footage of neighbours or an entire neighbourhood incident log to request an inspection.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Keep the private fence enquiry separate from street security.

Atholl is one of the neighbourhoods served by the AIIWE public-space security initiative. If a street incident prompts you to review your own fence, start with the equipment and records at your address. Identify who maintains the private system and whether you need a fault investigation, repairs or an electric fence compliance certificate assessment.

01

An alarm after a reported incident

Record the time and the message you actually received, then identify whether it came from the fence energiser, house alarm or a neighbourhood alert. Share the relevant reference with the attending inspector. A nearby incident may explain why you noticed the system, but it does not diagnose a damaged wire or faulty component.

02

Repairs by more than one contractor

Gather the invoices or brief descriptions of work to the fence, gate and alarm connection. Say which symptoms remained afterwards. Electric fence repairs can involve different parts of a system; knowing what was actually changed helps the inspection follow the current arrangement instead of assuming every contractor checked the entire perimeter.

03

A buyer asking for fence paperwork

Use the property's own certificate and installation records. A neighbourhood security membership or service subscription is not the fence document the buyer requested. If you cannot find the earlier certificate, say so at the outset and arrange an assessment rather than delaying while unrelated security paperwork is collected.

Explain what the fence does, not what you hope an alarm proves.

A sounding alarm is not a complete condition test, and silence does not prove that the fence is working correctly. Report what you observed without deliberately creating another alarm. The inspector can assess the electric fence installation, identify relevant defects and explain any work needed before certification is considered.

If your private fence reports to a monitoring provider, confirm that arrangement and the contact who can coordinate the inspection. Do not assume the community patrol service monitors your equipment. Where a complex controls the fence, ask its manager to arrange access and approve proposed alterations or repairs before they are booked. Keep the final findings with the property's records.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    The energiser and fence circuit

Identify the equipment and the fence sections it supplies, including alterations and gate crossings.

  2. 02

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

For an Atholl assessment, provide the reason for the visit, the fence equipment you can safely identify and a short repair history. Ask what inspection, fault investigation and corrective work are included in the price. A proposed new section or replacement energiser should be explained before you approve it; an alarm report alone is not a reason to order parts.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ATHOLL

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Does a security subscription include an electric fence certificate of compliance?

Do not assume that it does. Ask for the actual fence document and check which installation it describes. A subscription for patrols or response is a different record from an inspection certificate.

Is your electric fence alarming when there is no visible damage?

Send the recorded times, display message and any recent changes to the system. Electric fence fault finding needs the actual equipment checked; there is no need to touch wires, disconnect a section or repeat a fault to prove that it occurs.

Should the alarm company attend the inspection?

Tell us whether the fence has a monitored connection and who looks after it. The appropriate coordination depends on that installation and the work planned. We do not assume or promise an appointment with a particular provider.

Can I arrange a certificate after a gate repair?

Yes, describe the gate work and whether fence wires or cables were moved. Make the relevant records available so the inspector can assess the resulting installation and explain any remaining corrections before a certificate is issued.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
