ELECTRIC FENCE COC · BLAIR ATHOLL GOLF & EQUESTRIAN ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can you assess a security fence beside an equestrian area?+
Explain which equipment is used for security and which is used for animal control. Wesslink can confirm the appropriate assessment before booking. For an electric fence certificate of compliance, identify the security installation concerned and arrange safe access around any animals.
Is your electric fence alarming beside an equestrian area?+
Report the time, displayed message and affected location without approaching the wires. Electric fence fault finding must consider the actual installation. Arrange animal handling and access with the responsible people; do not create another alarm by moving an animal near the fence.
Can a private owner approve work on the estate boundary?+
Ask estate management who controls that section and what approval is required. Ownership of an adjoining stand does not establish permission to alter shared equipment. Confirm the instruction before installation or repairs are arranged.
Should the fence be changed before a planned garden or path alteration?+
Share the proposed change before work starts, especially where it changes access near the fence. The inspector can assess the electrical implications while the owner and estate deal with the applicable permission and project arrangements.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
