SHARED FENCE REPORTS · CLEAR SECTION REFERENCES · ONE AUTHORISED CONTACT

Need an Electric Fence COC in Buccleuch?

Are several people reporting a problem with the same Buccleuch fence? Bring their observations together before arranging separate visits. Wesslink can assess the installation, explain electric fence repairs and help with an electric fence COC. One authorised contact can coordinate the inspection while making sure each affected section is included.

The person collecting reports should agree the booking with the owner or manager responsible for the fence. Residents can contribute observations without being asked to test equipment or approve shared work.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Turn several messages into one useful inspection request.

Buccleuch’s residents association provides a channel for community and service matters. For a fence at your home or complex, arrange maintenance with its owner or managing contact. If household members or residents have reported concerns from different positions, first establish whether they are describing the same installation. Keep the property address and section references clear so the attending technician can understand what each person means.

01

Agree how each section will be described

Use existing section labels where available, or a recognisable reference such as the boundary beside the pedestrian entrance. One person’s back fence may be another person’s parking-side boundary. Combine descriptions carefully, using photographs taken from safe positions if helpful. Nobody needs to enter restricted areas or approach wires to improve the report.

02

Separate new observations from forwarded messages

Note whether a resident saw the condition themselves or is passing on someone else’s report. Keep the original location and approximate time with a forwarded message. Several copies of one alert should not be counted as several confirmed defects, while observations from another section should remain visible to the inspector.

03

Give one liaison the complete booking information

Choose a person authorised to arrange attendance and receive the proposed work. They should check whether an appointment already exists, collect the reports and confirm access with the relevant occupants. If approval must come from the owner or managing agent, arrange that contact before the visit rather than leaving residents to give conflicting repair instructions.

Arrange access to the installation described by the combined reports.

Send the collected observations to Wesslink with the full address and the liaison’s contact details. Electric fence fault finding needs access to the relevant equipment and affected sections, which may require more than one occupant to be available. Tell us which areas need separate keys or permission. Keep access codes and other security credentials out of community message threads.

For an electric fence compliance certificate, ask the responsible contact to provide the existing installation records and identify the system concerned. If a proposed electric fence installation or extension changes the boundary, obtain applicable owner or management approval and include that plan in the instruction. After assessment, the liaison can share the relevant findings and agreed next steps with the people affected by the work.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

Ask for a quotation based on the installation and sections to be assessed, with one clear instruction for the agreed work. Confirm who approves additional findings and receives the account. Combining reports helps avoid duplicate bookings, but the number of residents reporting a concern does not establish the inspection price or the extent of repairs needed.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · BUCCLEUCH

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Is your electric fence alarming and several residents have reported it?

Ask the responsible contact to combine the messages and identify the installation concerned. Keep each original section reference. Report visible damage promptly and stay clear of the equipment; multiple messages do not establish the cause.

Can the inspector need access through more than one home?

That depends on the fence route and equipment position. Explain the arrangement before booking and obtain permission from the relevant occupants. A key for one unit may not provide access to every section needing inspection.

Who should receive the electric fence certificate of compliance?

Agree the recipient with the owner or managing contact responsible for the installation. Keep the issued document with that system’s records and arrange any appropriate copies through the responsible person.

How do we avoid booking two contractors for the same problem?

Check the existing maintenance request with the person responsible for the fence before making another booking. Give them any additional observations and agree who will coordinate attendance. Do not assume a message in a group confirms an appointment.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
