ELECTRIC FENCE COC · CLAYVILLE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming during a property viewing or handover?+
Tell the seller or responsible manager and record the message. Electric fence fault finding can investigate the installation before the problem is treated as resolved or included in a final handover.
How do I request an electric fence compliance certificate?+
Identify the fence and provide the existing records if available. Ask Wesslink about the required inspection and tests, including access and any corrective work needed before issue.
Can the purchaser arrange an inspection before occupation?+
Agree access and authority with the current owner or manager. Provide the specific concern and available documents so the visit can assess the relevant installation.
What if the fence belongs to the complex?+
Ask the responsible manager for the relevant installation information and records. Do not instruct alterations to shared fencing as though it belongs only to the home being purchased.
What should I keep after the purchase or installation?+
Retain the equipment details, repair records and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Keep the property and installation description clear for future maintenance or sale enquiries.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
