POWER CHANGES · FENCE CONTINUITY · CORRECT SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION

Need an Electric Fence COC in Dainfern?

If backup power or an electrical alteration has changed how your Dainfern property is supplied, include the fence equipment in the handover questions. Wesslink can assess the relevant installation for an electric fence COC, investigate reported symptoms and explain corrective work. Confirm whether the equipment serves your property or a managed perimeter before booking.

A home’s inverter, generator or battery installation does not automatically show how a separate fence energiser is supplied or monitored.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Find out what the power change actually serves.

Dainfern is used for a wider area as well as named estates; Dainfern Square, for example, serves the surrounding Dainfern, Broadacres and Lone Hill communities. Give the actual estate or development and property address. For a fence enquiry after power work, identify the relevant equipment instead of assuming the household supply and a shared perimeter follow the same arrangement.

01

The house stays on but the fence behaves differently

Tell the inspector what remained powered and what indication appeared at the fence during ordinary use. Provide the recent electrical work description. Do not assume that an energiser is included merely because lights and sockets stayed on, or that a change in indication proves a failed battery. The actual supply arrangement needs assessment.

02

A backup system has just been installed

Ask the electrical contractor which circuits were included and retain the handover information. If fence equipment was moved, reconnected or otherwise affected, explain that separately. An electric fence compliance certificate enquiry should include those changes rather than relying only on the household electrical paperwork or a verbal assurance that everything important is backed up.

03

The fence belongs to the development

Contact the manager before commissioning work or changing any supply. A resident’s private power installation should not be assumed to supply common equipment. For electric fence repairs on a shared perimeter, management should confirm the instruction, access and any coordination with its existing electrical or security contractors.

Keep observations useful without trying outage tests yourself.

Record naturally occurring symptoms and the dates of supply alterations. Electric fence fault finding can then consider the relevant equipment and connections. Do not disconnect power, open electrical panels or bypass controls to prove which system feeds the fence. If the arrangement is undocumented, say so and arrange assessment rather than tracing it by trial and error.

For a new electric fence installation, discuss the required supply and any intended backup arrangement during planning. Ask how the completed fence will be assessed and what records will be handed over. Any estate or common-property approval must be obtained for the proposed work. Keep the fence findings with the electrical alteration records so future contractors can understand both parts of the project.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    The energiser and fence circuit

Identify the equipment and the fence sections it supplies, including alterations and gate crossings.

  2. 02

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

Provide the recent power-work description and identify the fence equipment when requesting a quote. Ask which investigation belongs to the fence installation and whether coordination with the electrical contractor is needed. The price should explain identified repairs or proposed changes without promising an unverified backup duration or uninterrupted operation.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · DAINFERN

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Does an electrical certificate include the electric fence certificate of compliance?

Ask for the actual documents and the installations they describe. Household electrical work and the electric fence need their respective assessment and records; do not assume one document covers both.

Is your electric fence alarming during a power change?

Record the time and message during normal use, and describe recent electrical work. Do not interrupt the supply again to recreate the event. The equipment and its connections need assessment before a cause is assigned.

Can you promise how long the fence will run on backup?

That requires the actual equipment and supply arrangement to be assessed. Do not rely on the household battery’s advertised capacity as a statement about the fence’s operation.

Should I contact estate management or the installer first?

If the fence is shared, start with management to confirm who controls it. For a private installation affected by recent work, provide the installer’s records and arrange appropriate coordination for the assessment.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
