Need an Electric Fence COC in Eco Park?

Is an outgoing tenant leaving or removing fence equipment at an Eco Park office property? Bring the landlord into the decision before anything is disconnected. Wesslink can discuss the intended handover, authorised electric fence repairs and the inspection needed for an electric fence COC for the installation that will remain.

Ask the landlord and tenant to agree which equipment is being retained or removed. The technical contractor needs an authorised instruction; an old invoice alone should not become a reason to disconnect equipment serving other premises.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Plan the fence that will remain after the tenant leaves.

Eco Park also includes commercial office addresses around Witch Hazel Avenue, including Eco Glades Office Park in Highveld Extension 75. If your office premises have an electric fence, identify whether it serves one building, a separately controlled yard or a shared park boundary. The tenant occupying an office is not necessarily the customer responsible for that equipment.

01

The tenant proposes removing an energiser

Tell the property manager before removal is booked. Establish which fence the equipment serves and ask the technical contractor to assess the intended final arrangement. If replacement is needed, agree its installation and completion checks so the handover does not depend on an undefined later repair.

02

Some components belong to the building and others were added later

Gather the available work records and have the responsible parties agree the removal instruction. Ask the technician to identify the operational arrangement. Equipment ownership and technical suitability are separate decisions; neither should be guessed from the room in which a control box happens to be mounted.

03

A new tenant will take occupation immediately

Coordinate the removal, replacement and final assessment before agreeing the technical handover. Name the person receiving the operating information and findings. The new occupier needs to know what is installed and functioning, and which concerns still require action, without relying on the outgoing tenant being available afterward.

Document the installation after the agreed changes.

Ask the completed-work description to identify retained, removed and replaced components. Keep any revised equipment references with the property records and explain them to the person responsible for maintenance. If the assessment finds a defect unrelated to the tenant’s departure, obtain a separate description and proposed correction so it does not disappear within the removal instruction.

Where a new electric fence installation or a changed boundary is chosen instead, confirm the landlord and park-management approvals as applicable. Agree the supporting work and completion sequence before contractors begin. The inspection should consider the resulting installation, with ordinary operating guidance provided for the responsible customer and any unresolved work clearly explained.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

Provide the outgoing tenant’s proposed removal list, available fence records and the intended handover date. Ask the quotation to distinguish assessment, removal, replacement work and certification. Clarify who approves any additional corrections found during attendance. Do not assume a removal-only price includes restoring and inspecting the remaining installation for the next occupier.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ECO PARK

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Is your electric fence alarming during an office move?

Report the indication to the property’s responsible facilities contact. Wesslink can discuss electric fence fault finding and any equipment changes already made.

Can the tenant take the energiser when the lease ends?

Ask the landlord and tenant to settle the authorised removal instruction first. The technician can assess how that proposed removal affects the installation and what work is needed afterward.

Can an electric fence compliance certificate be arranged before handover?

Discuss the programme and required assessment when enquiring. Certification follows the necessary inspection, tests and compliant result for the completed arrangement.

What if the landlord wants the existing equipment retained?

Provide the agreed instruction and ask for its current condition and suitability to be assessed. Keep the operating information available for the person taking responsibility after the tenant leaves.

Which records should stay with the property?

Retain the completed removal and replacement description, current equipment information and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued for the assessed installation.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
