ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ILLOVO
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Does changing the manager require a new electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A management change alone does not establish the technical condition. Gather the relevant records and describe any later alterations, missing information or unresolved concerns so the appropriate assessment can be arranged.
Is your electric fence alarming after a service handover?+
Record the message and timing, and identify any actual equipment or connection changes. A new management contact is not itself a diagnosis; the installation needs assessment where a fault is reported.
Can the precinct manager approve work on a private building’s fence?+
Confirm who controls that installation. Precinct services and private building maintenance may have different responsibilities, so obtain approval from the relevant owner or property manager.
What should the final handover file contain?+
Keep the installation’s relevant certificate, inspection findings, repair descriptions and responsible maintenance contact together. Record any work still outstanding so the next person does not mistake a partial repair for complete close-out.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
