Need an Electric Fence COC in Lonehill?

Is your electric fence alarming at your Lonehill property? Tell Wesslink whether you need electric fence fault finding, a certificate for transfer, or both. A call from a response service is useful information, but it does not identify the electrical cause or prove that the installation is ready for certification.

An alarm-monitoring agreement and an electric fence COC answer different questions. Have both available when they are relevant.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Coordinate the inspection with the actual monitoring arrangement.

The Lonehill Residents Association describes community patrols and control-room services across Lonehill, Beverley and Pineslopes. That area coverage does not establish who monitors a particular property's fence. Confirm your own arrangement so testing can be coordinated with the right operator and the correct property reference.

01

Repeated activations before a sale

Keep a brief record of when the alarm occurred, the displayed zone and any recent work at the boundary. Include what the response team actually reported, without turning a suspected cause into a confirmed defect. Do not repeatedly reset equipment or touch the fence to reproduce the problem.

02

Changing the response provider

Tell the inspector if a new monitoring connection, account or alarm interface has been arranged. Ask the outgoing and incoming providers which work each performed. A monitoring handover may leave the fence untouched, or may involve changes that need to be considered alongside the existing certificate.

03

A complex with several contacts

The person receiving the alert, the owner of the energiser and the person holding the certificate may be different. Give the managing agent an accurate description of the request. For shared installations, arrange one authorised instruction and a contact who can coordinate testing with the monitoring provider.

Close the visit with a clear operational handover.

Before planned testing, agree who will notify the monitoring service and who will confirm the agreed operating state afterwards. The inspection findings should distinguish a fence defect from an unresolved communication or alarm-response issue. This prevents a repaired component being treated as proof that every connected service has been checked.

For transfer, retain the certificate and any later repair records together. Give the buyer or responsible manager the relevant user information through an appropriate private handover, rather than posting access codes in an enquiry or group chat. If an issue remains open, name it clearly and assign the follow-up to the person responsible.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    The energiser and fence circuit

Identify the equipment and the fence sections it supplies, including alterations and gate crossings.

  2. 02

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

A Lonehill enquiry should state whether the main need is certification, intermittent alarm diagnosis or coordination after a monitoring change. Send the equipment model if it is safely visible and any existing fault report. Electric fence repairs should be explained separately from the initial inspection price. For a new electric fence installation in a managed complex, obtain the applicable approval before work begins.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · LONEHILL

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Does LRA membership mean my electric fence is certified?

No. Community services and certification of a particular installation are different matters. Locate the actual fence certificate and establish whether later work affects the installation described.

The response team found nobody at the fence. Does that prove a fault?

It records what they found during that attendance. It does not identify the cause of the activation. Provide the timing and report so the technical investigation starts with evidence.

Can I arrange testing without telling the monitoring company?

Tell us about the connection before the visit. The authorised contact should coordinate the agreed test window and restoration with the relevant operator to avoid confusion over deliberate test signals.

Can a quiet fence be accepted without an inspection?

A lack of recent alarms does not establish compliance. Certification concerns the installation and required assessment, not simply whether a response service has received an activation.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
