SHARED PREMISES · USER-GROUP ACCESS · RESPONSIBLE MAINTENANCE

Need an Electric Fence COC in Norscot?

Do different clubs, classes or regular users share premises where fence work is needed? At a Norscot property, Wesslink can assess the installation, explain repairs and help with an electric fence COC. Arrange the visit with the person responsible for the property, and identify the work area before users arrive for their normal activities.

A group’s booking or key to a room does not automatically authorise work on the property’s fence. Coordinate shared-equipment maintenance with the responsible manager.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Keep regular activities separate from the inspection work area.

Norscot Manor Recreation Centre on Penguin Drive is a local example of premises used by different community groups. If an electric fence at your own shared venue needs attention, identify the property manager and the users affected by attendance. A class organiser may know the activity timetable while someone else holds the equipment keys or approves maintenance.

01

A regular user reports a concern

Ask for the location, time and safely observed condition, and pass it to the responsible property contact. Do not ask a class leader, volunteer or visitor to identify a component by handling equipment. The manager can arrange assessment and decide how users should be kept clear of the affected area.

02

Activities overlap the planned attendance

Describe arrival, departure and outdoor-use periods so suitable arrangements can be agreed. If people normally cross the relevant area, the property team should organise a safe alternative or timing. Electric fence repairs should not depend on an inspector working around an unannounced group whose organisers did not know the visit was planned.

03

One group requests an additional fence

Clarify the property’s approval process before seeking electric fence installation work. Explain the intended use, route and supporting structures to the responsible manager. A user group’s preference should be considered through that process, with the relevant site assessment and approval obtained before equipment is installed or shared arrangements changed.

Keep one maintenance record despite changing activity schedules.

For an electric fence compliance certificate assessment, obtain the relevant existing document and repair history from the person responsible for the installation. If different groups have reported symptoms over time, keep their observations dated and separate from any contractor’s diagnosis. Electric fence fault finding should use that history without assuming each report describes the same event or cause.

Agree who approves corrective work and receives the findings before attendance. If the installation is on managed or public property, the appropriate authorised contact must arrange the instruction; hiring a room does not appoint a contractor for the owner. After work, retain the completed description and explain any ongoing access or reporting arrangements to the relevant staff and regular users.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

Provide the property address, required work and activity-related access conditions when requesting a price. Ask what inspection or investigation is included and how additional corrections will be approved. Any preferred quiet period should be agreed specifically rather than treated as a guarantee that the whole job can be completed between two classes.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · NORSCOT

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Who should request the electric fence certificate of compliance at shared premises?

The responsible owner or property manager should identify the installation, arrange access and commission any required assessment. A regular user can raise the need and provide observations.

Is your electric fence alarming during a class or community activity?

Keep people away from the affected equipment and report the time and location to the property contact. Do not let participants approach the wires or attempt to stop the alarm themselves.

Can a volunteer let the inspector into the building?

Confirm that the person is authorised and has access to the relevant equipment, not just a booked room. Arrange the responsible contact and approval for findings as well as entry.

Can work be scheduled between regular activities?

Provide the timetable and required access so suitable attendance can be discussed. The assessment and work findings determine what is practical; completion within a short gap should not be presumed.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
