ELECTRIC FENCE COC · NORWOOD
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
The fence has a yellow sign; is that enough for a COC?+
No. The installation needs assessment as a whole. The position, visibility and condition of signs are among the matters to check, together with the fence and associated equipment.
Does opening a side gate to customers matter if the wires stayed in place?+
Tell the inspector about the new use. The way people approach the fence and pass through entrances is relevant to assessing the current arrangement, even where the fence itself has not moved.
Can the inspection cover a restaurant while deliveries continue?+
Discuss the delivery pattern when booking. Some access may need a quiet period or temporary coordination with staff. The visit plan should allow the affected sections to be examined safely.
Will a normal shop security notice replace electric-fence warnings?+
Do not assume that it will. Show the existing notices to the inspector, who can identify what is suitable for the electric fence and what needs correction.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
