ELECTRIC FENCE COC · PAULSHOF
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
What should I ask the seller to leave for the fence handover?+
Request the relevant certificate, available repair records, normal operating instructions and the details of any separately appointed service provider. Keep access codes private and transfer them through an appropriate secure process.
Is your electric fence alarming soon after moving in?+
Record the normal display message and when it happens. Do not repeatedly reset or test unfamiliar equipment; arrange an assessment and tell Wesslink what information the previous occupant supplied.
Does the electric fence certificate of compliance explain every control?+
The certificate and operating instructions serve different purposes. Ask for both the installation records and a clear explanation of normal use rather than expecting the certificate to function as a user manual.
Can a tenant arrange the inspection?+
A tenant can report the concern and help with access. Agree the appointment and authority for repairs with the landlord, and involve management where the equipment belongs to a shared system.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
