ELECTRIC FENCE COC · RIVER CLUB
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
How do I compare two very different fence quotations?+
Compare the sections, tasks, materials and exclusions, then ask each contractor to explain any remaining difference. Do not assume the higher price is more complete or the lower one covers the same work.
Is your electric fence alarming again after several repairs?+
Provide the earlier work records and a concise description of the recurring symptom. Ask for investigation of the current fault rather than ordering the same part again without assessment.
Should the electric fence certificate of compliance be mentioned in the quote?+
Yes, explain that requirement when requesting the work so the necessary assessment, corrections and documentation can be discussed clearly. Payment for repairs alone does not describe what was inspected.
Can residents approve work on a community installation individually?+
Use the organisation or manager responsible for that equipment. A resident can report a problem and assist with access, but authority for alterations must be established with the relevant owner.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
