Need an Electric Fence COC in Woodmead?

Dividing a Woodmead property or creating a separately occupied section? Include the electric fence early in the plans. Wesslink can assess retained equipment, discuss a proposed electric fence installation and help establish the inspection work needed for an electric fence COC, with ownership and applicable approvals clarified before alterations.

A new wall or separate entrance does not establish how existing fence equipment should be divided. Have the actual arrangement assessed before disconnection, extension or relocation work begins.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Plan the fence alongside the new property arrangement.

Woodmead’s residents association describes a residential community alongside office development and includes planning and subdivision matters among its local interests. If your own property is being divided or its occupation is changing, explain the approved project and intended boundaries. The fence discussion should address the real resulting installation rather than assuming Woodmead is exclusively residential or commercial.

01

An existing boundary will serve different owners

Identify the equipment that remains and who is expected to control and maintain it. Have the technical arrangement assessed with the relevant owners involved. Do not split the cost on an informal assumption that each visible half of a fence can operate independently after the property work is finished.

02

A new internal wall is being built

Show the proposed position, entrances and access routes. Explain whether electric fencing is requested on that wall or whether the work affects the existing perimeter. The builder and appropriate fence professional should coordinate the sequence, with applicable planning and owner approvals established before the installation is altered.

03

The energiser would remain in someone else’s area

Raise access and maintenance responsibility before occupation changes. A workable arrangement needs more than an assurance that a neighbour will always be available. Discuss the options with the responsible parties and have any relocation or other alteration assessed and recorded as part of the agreed work.

Give each responsible party the right records.

For an electric fence compliance certificate, provide earlier documents and the proposed or completed property changes. Ask the inspector to establish the relevant installation and necessary assessment. Do not duplicate an old document and change the address to fit a new property description; document questions should be resolved through the appropriate issuer or property adviser.

If the retained fence has an unresolved symptom, arrange electric fence fault finding before treating it as ready for handover. Necessary electric fence repairs should be identified separately from optional new boundary work. This lets the parties understand whether the cost concerns existing defects, the new arrangement or both, without using the technical findings to settle a private ownership dispute.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

Request a quotation based on the intended final layout and agreed authority for the work. Separate assessment of retained equipment, corrections, new installation and any later inspection after construction. Clarify associated wall or gate work and exclusions, so each responsible party can approve a defined task rather than a vague share of an unexplained overall amount.

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can two new properties keep one existing fence arrangement?

That requires assessment of the actual installation and a clear agreement between the responsible parties. Do not assume the technical or ownership arrangement from the new boundary line alone.

Is your electric fence alarming during subdivision work?

Report the normal indication and the work sequence. Keep contractors away from suspect equipment and arrange investigation before further fence alterations continue.

Can an electric fence certificate of compliance be reused with a new address?

Do not amend or duplicate the issued document yourself. Explain the property changes and arrange clarification and the appropriate assessment for the resulting installation.

Should the fence be discussed before the new wall is built?

Yes. Early discussion can identify equipment, access and sequencing issues while the proposed arrangement can still be properly coordinated.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
