MULTIPLE PROPERTY BOOKINGS · CLEAR PRIORITIES · SEPARATE RECORDS

Need an Electric Fence COC in Fourways?

Managing more than one Fourways property with a fence enquiry? Keep each installation, contact and required outcome clear. Wesslink can assess existing systems for an electric fence COC, investigate reported faults and quote for defined repairs or new work. A shared booking contact should not mean the properties share one inspection history or certificate.

Send one address and work description for each property. Do not combine unrelated installations into a single alarm report or assume one certificate covers the group.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Organise the properties before combining attendance.

The City’s Fourways development framework covers a broad mixed-use area rather than one estate. A Fourways booking may therefore need a suburb, named development, street address and appropriate entrance. For an agent or manager coordinating several sites, separating those details early helps the right equipment, approval and records reach the attending inspector.

01

One property needs sale paperwork

Provide its existing certificate and the dates of known fence changes. Identify the seller or manager who can approve findings and arrange full access. Keep its electric fence compliance certificate enquiry distinct from a repair at another property, even when the same agent handles both matters or the names of the developments sound similar.

02

Another property has a recurring fault

Give that site its own symptom history, repair records and responsible contact. Electric fence fault finding needs the actual observations for the installation concerned. Copying an alarm description from another booking can send the investigation in the wrong direction, especially if one system is private and the other is managed by a complex.

03

A third property needs new work

Describe the proposed electric fence installation and arrange the applicable site and management approvals. Do not use the dimensions, equipment list or access assumptions from an existing property as the quotation brief. The installer needs to assess the boundary, intended use and actual arrangement for that particular project.

Keep practical batching separate from installation records.

If attendance at more than one property is being discussed, explain which sites are ready and which still need keys, approvals or other work. Ask what can reasonably be arranged together, without assuming a combined visit or discount. A site that is not ready should not prevent a clear instruction for another property whose access and records are available.

For electric fence repairs, ask that quotations and completed-work descriptions identify the correct address and installation. Send each owner the relevant findings rather than forwarding a mixed file of other properties’ information. Keep any outstanding work or access limitation attached to that site’s record so it is not lost when the next booking is arranged.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    The energiser and fence circuit

Identify the equipment and the fence sections it supplies, including alterations and gate crossings.

  2. 02

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

List the required service at each address and ask for a clear price breakdown. Explain the separate access contacts and any development procedures before attendance is agreed. Travel and scheduling may be discussed, but each installation’s condition and work requirement still determine the relevant assessment and corrective-work quotation.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · FOURWAYS

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can one electric fence certificate of compliance cover my property portfolio?

Do not assume that it can. The document must relate to the installation described. Identify each system and ask what assessment and records are required for it.

Is your electric fence alarming at more than one property?

Keep separate dated observations for each site. Similar timing does not establish a shared cause, and one repair result should not be applied to another installation without assessment.

Can inspection and repair visits be grouped?

Provide the addresses, required work and access readiness so practical arrangements can be discussed. Combined attendance depends on the actual jobs and agreed availability; it should not be presumed from the Fourways area name.

What if one complex has not approved the work yet?

Keep that approval outstanding for the relevant site and tell us which other properties are ready. Do not commission shared-equipment changes before the responsible management has agreed to them.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
