EVENT SETUP · TEMPORARY LAYOUTS · SAFE BOUNDARY ACCESS

Need an Electric Fence COC in Inanda?

Before temporary event equipment is placed near a fence at an Inanda property, include the boundary in the setup discussion. Wesslink can assess an existing installation for an electric fence COC and explain repairs or alterations. Describe guest routes, temporary structures and contractor access early enough to address the actual arrangement before the event.

Do not attach banners, lighting or temporary structures to electric fence components. Keep setup crews and guests clear of the equipment.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Include the fence when planning temporary outdoor use.

Inanda’s local event facilities include the Inanda Club’s function rooms, gardens and outdoor event spaces. If your own venue or property has an electric fence near a temporary setup, show the installer where people and equipment will be placed. A layout that works for normal occupation may need review when furniture, structures or guest routes change for a function.

01

Temporary furniture moves people closer

Describe the proposed seating, queueing or service position beside the boundary. Consider where staff will stand as well as where guests will sit. The fence assessment needs the intended use of the space, so discuss the layout before furniture arrives instead of asking the setup team to judge the installation from appearance.

02

Decorations or equipment need support

Provide the proposal to the responsible venue contact and fence contractor where it affects the boundary. Electric fence installation components should not become convenient fixing points for an event supplier. Keep any required electrical work, structure approval and venue agreement clear rather than assuming a fence quotation authorises the whole temporary setup.

03

The event is over and equipment is removed

Ask staff to report visible damage or changes noticed during dismantling, without handling wires or connections. If the fence was affected, retain the event contractor’s description of what occurred. Electric fence repairs should address the assessed condition before the property returns to ordinary use, rather than treating removal of the temporary equipment as complete restoration.

Arrange assessment around a clear setup and dismantling plan.

For an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry, supply previous records and explain whether the installation itself will change or only the surroundings. The inspector needs to understand the finished event layout and the normal arrangement afterwards. An event timetable should allow findings to be considered; it cannot guarantee that a last-minute inspection will need no corrective work.

Where the boundary is venue-managed, obtain the relevant management approval for proposed fence alterations and arrange access through the responsible contact. Coordinate any operational changes with the people who control the installation and its service connections. Keep the final findings and work description with the venue’s maintenance records so temporary suppliers do not become the only source of information about changes.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · INANDA

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Does an electric fence certificate of compliance approve an event layout?

It concerns the fence installation assessed. Event, structure and other applicable approvals need their own consideration. Explain the temporary surroundings so their relevance to the fence can be assessed.

Is your electric fence alarming during event setup?

Stop people approaching the affected equipment and report the observed message and location. Electric fence fault finding should assess the situation; do not remove or reconnect wires to keep the setup schedule moving.

Can decorations be hung on the fence?

Do not use electric fence components as attachment points. Discuss a separate suitable arrangement with the responsible venue and event contractors, keeping people and equipment clear of the installation.

Should the fence be checked after temporary equipment is removed?

Report any changes or damage and explain whether fence equipment was affected. The appropriate assessment depends on what occurred; dismantling alone does not show that the original condition has been restored.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
